Wasaya Group Inc (WGI) is pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement with Lac Seul First Nation to explore joint venture partnerships and economic activity in the region. These partnerships will involve a variety of sectors to include Transportation, Training, Forestry, Tourism, Economic Development, Distribution Systems, and Fuel.
President & CEO of the 10 First Nations owned Wasaya Group Inc, Tom Kamenawatamin, says that he is “very confident that the alliance Lac Seul First Nation has formed with Wasaya Group will lead to major economic benefits to both partners. Wasaya is in its 21st year of operations and has fostered essential partnerships and business relationships over the years that not only demonstrate our resolve, but respect and care towards our neighbors in the north and our friends in the south. These relationships have resulted in having a major impact on the lives of First Nations and others who have benefited and utilized our companies and non-profit services over the years.”
Lac Seul First Nation Chief Clifford Bull says that “I am pleased to sign this very important agreement with the Wasaya Group that will help move us towards accessing additional markets. This will result in increased employment & training opportunities and economic development benefits for my community and we are looking for this kind of partnership.”
